2022–23 Hong Kong Senior Shield
The 2022–23 Hong Kong Senior Shield was the 119th edition of Hong Kong’s old football cup. Ten teams from the 2022–23 Hong Kong Premier League competed. The tournament ran from 11 September 2022 to 22 January 2023, with two first-round games before the quarter-finals.
Prize money: champions received HK$150,000, runners-up HK$50,000, and the two losing semi-finalists HK$20,000 each. Other teams earned HK$5,000. The best player of the final received an extra HK$10,000.
Overview and stats: A total of 9 matches were played, with 31 goals scored (about 3.44 per game). Total attendance was 17,124 (about 1,903 per match). The top scorer was Dejan Damjanović with 4 goals. The Player of the Match in the final was Yapp Hung Fai of Eastern.
Outcome: Eastern were the defending champions but lost in the final to Kitchee, who won the title for the 8th time. Kitchee defeated Eastern in the final.
