Gideon B. Williamson
Gideon B. Williamson (February 20, 1898 – 1981) was an American minister and church leader. He served as president of Eastern Nazarene College from 1936 to 1944, and as general president of the Nazarene Young People's Society (1932–1940). He also was a general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene from 1946 to 1968.
Born in New Florence, Missouri, Williamson felt the call to preach at an early age in the Church of God (Holiness). He joined the Church of the Nazarene in 1919 after graduating from John Fletcher College in University Park, Iowa. He studied at McCormick Theological Seminary and Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago.
Williamson preached for 16 years as pastor at the Austin Church in Chicago, the Cleveland First Church of the Nazarene in Ohio, and later the First Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri, after his time as ENC president.
