1804 United States House of Representatives election in Georgia
Initially, Cowles Mead, a Democratic-Republican, was declared the winner of Georgia’s 4th seat in the 1804 U.S. House elections. Votes from Camden, Liberty, and Tatnal counties arrived late and were not counted at first. When those votes were later counted, Thomas Spalding, also a Democratic-Republican, overtook Mead by 39 votes and won the 4th seat. Spalding then took Mead’s place.
