Arachnoides
Arachnoides is a genus of sea urchins in the family Clypeasteridae, found in the Indo-Pacific oceans. The shell has a flat base and a convex upper surface. The genus was described by Leske in 1778, with the type species Echinus placenta described by Linnaeus in 1758. Arachnoides zelandiae, from New Zealand, is sometimes listed in this genus, but that name is now treated as a synonym of Fellaster zelandiae.
