The Snow Queen's Revenge

The Snow Queen's Revenge is a 1996 British animated film and the sequel to The Snow Queen (1995). It features Ellie, her brother Tom, and their friend Peeps as they try to stop the revived Snow Queen, who now wants revenge. Julia McKenzie voices the Snow Queen, replacing Helen Mirren from the first film.

After being defeated in the first movie, the Snow Queen is brought back to life when her magic staff is moved into her hand. She frees herself with help from three trolls, Eric, Baggy, and Wardrobe, and sneaks to the South Pole to carry out her scheme. She captures Dimly the flying reindeer and targets Ellie, hoping to lure and harm her.

Ellie and Peeps seek help from Brenda, a helpful bird, and learn more about the queen’s plans. Along the way, Ellie and Peeps meet Elsbeth and Pearl, two penguins who serve the Snow Queen at a frozen palace on a volcano. The queen’s plan intensifies as she creates a new flying creature, Iceosaurus, to aid her.

Ellie and Peeps are separated from Brenda when they fall into the ocean and are rescued by Clive the walrus and his wife Rowena, who turn out to be bounty hunters trying to capture Ellie for a reward. Brenda rescues them from danger, and they reach the South Pole again. Brenda is frozen, but Ellie uses a magic talisman that turns into a pepper pot to unfreeze her. Ellie, Peeps, and Brenda confront Elsbeth and Pearl, trapping them in a bubble, and free Dimly from the stables by turning a device into a key to lock the reindeer away.

In the final battle, the Snow Queen attacks with Iceosaurus while Ellie uses Freda’s device as a shield to block ice beams. One beam hits Iceosaurus, sending it crashing into a volcano that erupts. Brenda helps Ellie, Peeps, and Dimly escape the flood of lava. The Snow Queen falls into the lava as her castle collapses, and the other characters watch as she drifts away, her eyes glowing ominously.

The Snow Queen's Revenge was animated by Fil-Cartoons in Manila. It was released direct-to-video on VHS in 1996 by First Independent Films, later as part of a double feature with The Snow Queen, and got international release from Warner Bros. in 1998. It later came out on DVD in 2004 and saw re-releases in 2005.
