Apremont is a small commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France, located southeast of Chambéry. In the night of 24 November 1248, a landslide reshaped the land and helped create ideal conditions for growing grapes. Today, Apremont is known for its wine, produced on chalky soils along with nearby communes Saint-André-les-Marches and Saint-Baldoph. The vineyards cover about 400 hectares and mainly produce white wines, making Apremont a major wine area in Savoy. The commune spans about 118 square kilometers and has around 980 residents (2023). It is governed by Mayor Marc Dupraz (2020–2026). The postal code is 73190 and the INSEE code is 73017. Elevation ranges from about 302 to 1,554 meters above sea level.
