No. 25 Flight AAC
No. 25 Flight AAC was a unit of the British Army's Army Air Corps. It existed from 1987 until September 2015. It was formed in Belize in 1987 and flew Westland Sioux AH.1 helicopters. In August 2011, the flight moved back to AAC Middle Wallop in England.
Its main job was to support UK peacetime operations and training, including security for the 2012 Summer Olympics. In March 2013, the flight was sent to Kenya to support the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK). Its primary role was 24/7 medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) for exercising troops in remote parts of Kenya, as well as BATUK dependents and staff. A secondary role was to clear ranges before live-fire exercises. The flight operated three Bell 212 helicopters. The Army Air Corps left Kenya in September 2015 after about two and a half years of MEDEVAC duty.
