Anna Mishchenko is a Ukrainian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500 metres. She was born on 25 August 1983 in Sumy, Ukraine. She won the Ukrainian 1500m title in 2006. In 2008 she finished sixth at the European Athletics Indoor Cup in Moscow and competed for Ukraine at the Beijing Olympics, reaching the 1500m final and finishing ninth with a personal best of 4:05.13. At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2012 she won bronze in the 1500m, which was later upgraded to silver after the winner was disqualified for doping. She also ran for Ukraine in the European Team Championships in 2010 (Bergen) and 2011 (Stockholm). On 25 February 2016, the IAAF announced a two-year ban for Mishchenko through 17 August 2017 and said all her results since 28 June 2012 would be voided due to irregularities in her biological passport.
