Chase McLaughlin is an American football placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. He was born on April 9, 1996, in Cypress, Texas. He played college football at Illinois, where he earned the Bakken–Andersen Kicker of the Year award in 2018 and was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection. While at Illinois, he made a school record five 50-plus yard field goals and became the first Illini kicker to score 50-plus yard field goals in three consecutive games.

Professional career
- Undrafted in 2019, McLaughlin signed with the Buffalo Bills. He spent that year with several teams, including stints with the Minnesota Vikings (practice squad), Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Indianapolis Colts.
- He joined the Colts in December 2019 and signed a one-year extension through 2020.
- In 2020, he moved between the Colts, Vikings (practice squad), and Jacksonville Jaguars. He later joined the New York Jets in December 2020 and became their full-time starter in January 2021.
- He was released by the Jets in May 2021 and claimed by the Cleveland Browns on May 10, 2021. In Week 3 of the 2021 season against the Chicago Bears, he went 4-for-4 on field goals, including a 57-yard kick, and both extra points. He finished 2021 with 36 of 37 extra points and 15 of 21 field goals.
- McLaughlin re-signed with the Browns in 2022 but was waived, then joined the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad in September 2022 and was promoted to the active roster in October. In Week 5, he made all four field goals, including two 50-plus yard kicks, in a 12–9 overtime win at Denver, earning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He finished 2022 with 21 extra points on 21 attempts and 30 of 36 field goals.
- He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on March 30, 2023, and was named the starter at the beginning of the 2023 season after Rodrigo Blankenship’s departure.
- On March 11, 2024, he signed a three-year, $12.3 million contract extension with the Buccaneers.
- On September 28, 2025, he kicked a 65-yard field goal to set a Buccaneers franchise record for the longest field goal in an outdoor stadium. In Week 8 that year, he kicked three field goals over 50 yards in a win over the New Orleans Saints, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
