Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest
Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest
Andorra participated in Eurovision six times, from 2004 to 2009, with RTVA (Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra) as the broadcaster. They never reached a final, and their best result was 12th in the 2007 semi-final with 80 points. After the 2009 contest, Andorra withdrew due to financial difficulties and has not returned. There has been occasional talk of coming back if funding allows.
How they chose their entries varied over the years. Andorra used national finals in 2004, 2005, and 2009, and internal selections in 2006–2008. Most years used televoting to pick points, but a backup jury was used when the public vote was too small to be valid (in 2005 and 2007).
Entries and results:
- 2004: Marta Roure – "Jugarem a estimar-nos" (semi-final 18th; 12 points, all from Spain)
- 2005: Marian van de Wal – "La mirada interior" (semi-final 23rd; 27 points)
- 2006: Jenny – "Sense tu" (semi-final last; 8 points)
- 2007: Anonymous – did not reach the final
- 2008: Gisela – did not reach the final
- 2009: Susanne Georgi – "La teva decisió (Get a Life)" (semi-final 15th; 8 points)
Looking ahead, Andorra explored a possible return with TV3 (Catalonia) in 2026, but RTVA later said it would not participate in 2026 or collaborate on a return.
