Amortage
Amortage is the debut solo EP by South Korean singer Jisoo, released on February 14, 2025, through Blissoo and Warner Records. The four-track collection features two Korean and two English songs and sticks to bubblegum pop as it explores the stages of love. The lead single, Earthquake, arrived with the album.
This release marks Jisoo’s first solo project after leaving YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023. The title Amortage blends amor, the Latin word for love, with montage, signaling a collage of love moments. Jisoo co-wrote all four songs with Jordan Roman and Jack Brady of The Wavys, and Blissoo and The Wavys produced the project.
Background and promotion: After starting her own label Blissoo in February 2024, Jisoo signed a global deal with Warner Records on January 28, 2025. Teasers began in January, with pre-orders opening February 3. The team revealed the tracklist on February 4 and released concept posters through February 7, followed by a track spoiler video on February 10. To celebrate the release, she held two fan-meet sessions in Seoul and launched the Lights, Love, Action! fanmeet tour across Asia.
Reception and impact: Critics praised Amortage for its versatility and Jisoo’s delivery. NME gave it 4 out of 5 stars, while Billboard highlighted its cohesive exploration of love styles and Jisoo’s growing global presence. In South Korea, the EP had a powerful start, selling 385,501 copies on its first day and 523,318 in the first week, debuting at number one on the Circle Album Chart. It also topped the Hanteo weekly chart for two consecutive weeks and, by April, had sold over 462,000 copies in Korea, contributing to Jisoo becoming the top-selling female K-pop soloist in history with more than 2 million cumulative solo album sales. In the United States, Amortage entered the Top Album Sales chart at number 11.
