895 Helio is a large, dark asteroid in the outer part of the asteroid belt, about 148 kilometers across.

It was discovered on July 11, 1918, by German astronomer Max Wolf at Heidelberg. The name honors helium; the element’s name was chosen by Friedrich Paschen at Wolf’s request, and helium itself comes from Helios, the Sun.

This asteroid is classified as a B-type, with hedenbergite (an iron-rich pyroxene) as its best spectral match.

Orbit and size:
- Semi-major axis: about 3.20 AU
- Eccentricity: about 0.146
- Orbital period: about 5.73 years
- Inclination: about 26.1 degrees
- Diameter: about 148 km
- Albedo (reflectivity): about 0.042
- Mass: about 9.9 × 10^18 kg
- Density: about 5.8 g/cm^3

Rotation and observation:
- Rotation period: about 9.40 hours

Other notes:
- It is dynamically linked to the 31 Euphrosyne asteroid family but is likely an interloper.
- Earth and Jupiter proximity varies: Earth MOID ~1.75 AU; Jupiter MOID ~1.60 AU; Jupiter Tisserand parameter ~3.02.
