Amanda Billing
Amanda Billing is a New Zealand actress, born on 12 April 1976. She is best known for playing Doctor Sarah Potts on the TV soap Shortland Street. She grew up in Masterton, studied in Christchurch, and earned a BA with First Class Honours in Geography from the University of Canterbury. She trained at the Christchurch College of Education and became a high school teacher. Billing has stayed active in drama, appearing in amateur plays such as Cloud Nine and The Country Wife. She has taught Geography, English and Social Studies at several Auckland schools, most recently Rangitoto College, and has been acting since 2000.
