The Duke is a 1979 American television miniseries that aired on NBC. It ran from April 5 to May 18, 1979, and consisted of five episodes. Set in Chicago, the story follows Oscar "Duke" Ramsey, an aging boxer who becomes a private investigator. The series stars Robert Conrad as Duke. It was created by Stephen J. Cannell and produced by Stephen J. Cannell Productions in association with Universal Television. Directors were Lawrence Doheny and Dana Elcar. The theme music was composed by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter, and each episode runs about 48 minutes. Production took place in Chicago. Other cast members include Larry Manetti, Red West, Patricia Conwell, and Ed O'Bradovich.
