Megyn Kelly
Megyn Marie Kelly, born November 18, 1970 in Champaign, Illinois, is an American journalist, attorney, and media host. She earned a BA in political science from Syracuse University in 1992 and a JD from Albany Law School in 1995. After practicing law, she moved into television news and joined WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., in 2003. In 2004 she joined Fox News, where she hosted America Live (2010–2013) and The Kelly File (2013–2017), and she moderated several Republican debates in 2015 and 2016.
Kelly left Fox News in 2017 for NBC News, where she hosted Megyn Kelly Today until 2019. She then launched The Megyn Kelly Show, a daily podcast and video show that streams on SiriusXM’s Triumph channel and has a large YouTube audience. In 2025 she started MK Media, a network for news and entertainment from independent creators. Her work has earned recognition, including Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2014 and 2025, and a 2025 IHeartRadio award for Best Political Podcast. Her YouTube channel has grown to more than four million subscribers.
Personal life: Kelly is a Roman Catholic. She was married to Daniel Kendall from 2001 to 2006, and has been married to Douglas Brunt since 2008; the couple has three children, all conceived via IVF. Politically, she has described herself as independent since 2008 and has voted for candidates from both major parties. In recent years she has taken stances on a range of issues, including supporting Donald Trump in 2024 and attending his 2025 inauguration.
Beyond her on-air work, Kelly has written a best-selling memoir, Settle for More, published in 2016. She remains a prominent figure in American media, continuing to shape public conversation through her independent platform, podcast, and video ventures.
