Alvania mariae

Alvania mariae is an extinct, tiny sea snail (a micromollusk) in the Rissoidae family. It lived during the Miocene era, and fossils have been found in Landes, France. The species was first described in 1852 by A. d'Orbigny. The name Rissoa mariae has been used in the past, but the accepted name today is Alvania mariae.
