Vinton station, also known as Rock Island Depot or Vinton Depot, is a historic railroad building in Vinton, Iowa. It is located at 612 Second Avenue, Vinton, IA 52349. Completed in 1900 to replace an earlier BCR&N depot, the one‑story brick building sits on a limestone foundation. It was designed by H. F. White, the railroad’s architect, and built by A. H. Connor & Company of Cedar Rapids. Three years after it opened, the Burlington, Cedar Rapids & Northern Railway was acquired by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, and the depot served Rock Island trains. The station remained in use for passenger service until 1967. The Benton County Historical Society restored it and turned it into a railroad museum. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 1990 (NRHP reference number 90001852). It has one platform.
