James Disney-May
James Disney-May (born 4 August 1992 in Chertsey, England) is an English swimmer who competed for Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics and for England at the Commonwealth Games. He specializes in freestyle and swam in the 4×100-metre relay in London.
He attended Millfield School from 2005 to 2010. For college, he swam at Auburn University, where he earned two NCAA championships, 12 All-American honors, and seven SEC titles in both individual and relay events. He was named to the All-SEC First Team in 2012 and 2013, and appeared on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. In his senior year (2013–14), he competed in six events at the NCAA Championships, helping Auburn win the 400 free relay and contributing to the school record in the 800 free relay. He earned NCAA automatic qualifying times in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back, and is among Auburn’s top-ten performers in the 200 free and 100 back.
In December 2022, Disney-May was sentenced to 21 months in jail, spending six months in remand with 18 months suspended after pleading guilty to domestic assault against his fiancé. He was ordered to attend counseling, be electronically tracked for four months, and have a four-year restraining order banning contact with his partner and her parents.
