Alf's Button is a British comedy from 1930 directed by W. P. Kellino. It stars Tubby Edlin, Alf Goddard, Nora Swinburne and Polly Ward. The screenplay was written by L'Estrange Fawcett, based on the 1920 novel Alf's Button by William Aubrey Darlington. The movie includes some singing and dancing in an early colour process, believed to be Pathécolor. The plot centers on a Cockney soldier who discovers a button on his uniform made from Aladdin's lamp; when rubbed, the button grants wishes. It was produced by Gaumont British Picture Corporation and distributed by Gaumont British Distributors. Cinematography by William Shenton and Percy Strong, with music by Louis Levy. Release date: 24 March 1930. Running time: 96 minutes. Language: English. The film is held at the British Film Institute in London.
