Tirania
Tirania purpurea is the only species in the genus Tirania. It is a climbing plant native to Vietnam. It belongs to the order Brassicales, but its exact family placement is uncertain. Tirania is related to the plants Forchhammeria and Stixis. These genera were once placed in the Capparaceae family, but DNA studies show they are more closely related to the Resedaceae. Some classifications put Tirania in its own family, Stixaceae, but there isn’t enough evidence to confirm this, so many classifications leave Tirania unplaced at the family level within Brassicales.
