UN Security Council Resolution 2532: Global ceasefire during COVID-19

- Date: Adopted 1 July 2020 in response to Secretary-General António Guterres’ appeal for a global ceasefire during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- What it does: Calls for a general and immediate cessation of hostilities in all conflicts on the Council’s agenda and urges all parties to begin a durable humanitarian pause of at least 90 consecutive days. Groups designated as terrorists by the Council are excluded from this pause.
- UN response: Requests the Secretary-General to accelerate the international COVID-19 response, keep the Security Council regularly informed, and direct peacekeeping operations to support the effort and maintain continuity of operations.
