KXDocker was a Linux dock similar to the Mac OS X Dock, created by Stefano Zingarini. It acted as an app launcher and supported themes, plugins, and guides for making your own themes. It ran on KDE but could also work with GNOME, and it was free software under the GNU General Public License. KXDocker is discontinued and considered obsolete. Zingarini later started a new project called XQDE. As of 2024, the XQDE site says it is "almost here," but the only code on SourceForge dates from 2009. Other Linux/KDE docks include Kiba-dock (which adds physics and lets you drag icons around and was seen as more GNOME-friendly), Kooldock, and Ksmoothdock.
