Wyoming District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod
The Wyoming District is part of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) and one of its 35 districts. It covers Wyoming, the Nebraska Panhandle, and one church in Colorado; the rest of Nebraska and Colorado are served by other LCMS districts. The district has about 61 congregations and missions, 10 preschools, and 4 elementary schools, with roughly 13,700 baptized members. It was formed on September 30, 1970, by separating from the Northern Nebraska District, and its offices are in Casper, Wyoming. Delegates from each congregation elect district leaders every three years, including the president, vice presidents, circuit counselors, and a board of directors. The current district president is Rev. John E. Hill (since 2015). Website: www.wylcms.org
