Alexander Milov
Alexander Milov (born April 1, 1979) is a Ukrainian artist and sculptor from Odesa. He is best known for Love, a large sculpture shown at Burning Man in 2015. Milov grew up in Odesa, then part of the USSR, and loved art and film. He started sculpting in 2000 and learned blacksmithing in 2006. He works as a sculptor, filmmaker, blacksmith and designer. Other notable works include turning a Lenin statue in Odesa into Darth Vader (2015), creating Listen to the World for Vivid Sydney in 2019, and a 9-ton monument in Dubai (2021) honoring the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dubai sculpture features 56 adults and children without mouths, is made of polyester resin, concrete and stainless steel, and includes same-sex couples.
