Alessio Castro-Montes
Alessio Daniel Castro-Montes, born 17 May 1997 in Tongeren, Belgium, is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. FC Köln in the German Bundesliga. He is about 1.74 m tall and wears number 17.
He started his career at Gelmen V.V., where his father coached and his older brother played. A scout from Standard Liège noticed him, and he spent seven years there before moving to Anderlecht. In June 2019 Eupen announced they had sold him to Gent. After playing for Gent, he signed with Union SG in September 2023 on a three-year deal. In September 2025 he moved to 1. FC Köln on a three-season contract.
Castro-Montes was born in Belgium to a Spanish father and a Belgian mother.
