Aleksandr Sergeevich Rautian, born March 22, 1949, is a Russian paleontologist who works at the Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. He has named several prehistoric species, including Parvicursor remotus and Praeornis sharovi. In 2006, Bulanov and Sennikov named the gliding reptile Rautiania alexandri in his honor.
