South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) is the governing body for athletics in South Asia. It oversees regional events such as the South Asian Senior Athletics Championships, the South Asian U20 Athletics Championships, and the South Asian Cross Country Championships. SAAF has eight member countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. It is affiliated with the Asian Athletics Association. The president is Dr. Lalit K. Bhanot.

Recent developments:
- The 2024 SAAF Cross Country Championships were postponed to 2025 and held on 23 February 2025 at Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad, Pakistan, due to smog.
- The 2025 South Asian Senior Athletics Championships were postponed amid the India–Pakistan standoff.
