Walk with Me (2021 film)
Walk with Me is a 2021 American independent romantic drama film directed by Isabel del Rosal. The story follows Amber Evans, a 30-year-old mother who leaves her husband and starts over with her young daughter. Amber meets Logan, a kind, free-spirited musician played by Bridget Barkan, and what begins as a close friendship grows into an unexpected romance. Amber must navigate a new identity and the pressures of divorce while deciding whether to fight for love and stay true to herself.
Cast includes Devin Dunne Cannon as Amber, with Bridget Barkan, Daniel Fox, Catrina Ganey, Nikki James, Malachy Cleary, Kristen Vaughan, and Elisa Ginsberg among others.
Walk with Me premiered at Cinequest in 2021 and has screened at around 20 festivals worldwide. It has won multiple awards, including a Spirit Award and Best Actor at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Best Emerging Director at the Manhattan Film Festival, Best LGBTQ Film at Lady Filmmakers, Best Female Composer at the Toronto International Women’s Film Festival, and Best Feature at the New York International Women’s Film Festival. It was also an official selection at Toronto’s Inside Out Film Festival and a sponsored film at the 2022 BFI Flare in London. The film won Best Soundtrack at the Immaginaria International Film Festival in Rome.
Gravitas Ventures released Walk with Me in North America on March 22, 2022, with international English-speaking release beginning in April 2023. It is available on Amazon, Vudu, Tubi, Vimeo, YouTube, Google Play, Microsoft Xbox, Sling, and other video-on-demand platforms.
The soundtrack features sixteen original songs written by Amanda Walther of the folk duo Dala. Critics praised the film for its relatable characters and emotional depth, and Walther’s music was highlighted as an important part of the storytelling.
