Alan Toovey (born 23 March 1987) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the AFL. A fast, left-footed defender from Western Australia, he started with Claremont in the WAFL. After not getting a senior list in 2005, he trained with Collingwood and was picked in the 2006 rookie draft. He spent 2006 with Williamstown in the VFL before earning a spot on Collingwood’s senior list.

Toovey became a fan favorite for his bold defense and speed from the back pocket, with supporters often chanting “Tooves” when he had the ball. He debuted in Round 3, 2007, against Richmond, kicking three goals. He played 17 games over his first two seasons and became a regular in 2009. In 2010 he played every game and helped Collingwood win the premiership.

In 2011 he missed a month with a broken finger and later re-signed with Collingwood for two more years. In 2013 he ruptured his ACL and had knee reconstruction, missing the rest of the season. He returned in 2014 and played again for Collingwood.

On 22 August 2016, Toovey announced he would retire at the end of the season, joining 2010 premiership teammate Brent Macaffer. Over his AFL career, he played 159 games and kicked 9 goals for Collingwood. He stood 189 cm tall and weighed about 89 kg.
