Aiiro Cafe
Aiiro Cafe (AiiRO CAFE) is a gay bar and open‑air cafe on Shinjuku Ni-chōme’s main street in Tokyo. On weekends, drag queens and go-go boys perform outside. It’s a popular spot mentioned by several travel guides: Time Out Tokyo (2015) called it a laid-back place for an evening drink; The Culture Trip (2018) listed it as one of Tokyo’s best LGBT-friendly bars; Frommer’s notes it’s a good starting point in Ni-chome, on Naka-dori, with a welcoming, mostly gay crowd; Fodor’s describes it as a great street-corner pub with a large red shrine gate and a mixed, foreigner-friendly crowd; Lonely Planet says it has long been a hub in Shinjuku-nichōme, with the action on the street, English-speaking staff, and a rainbow torii gate out front.
