Adam and Company
Adam and Company Investment Management Limited is a Edinburgh-based wealth management firm that offers discretionary investment management and wealth planning for high‑net‑worth clients in the UK. Founded in 1983 and named after economist Adam Smith, it grew from a private bank with branches in Edinburgh and other cities. In 1993 it was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland and later became part of RBS’s wealth management division, alongside Coutts. The firm expanded over the years, including the 2002 purchase of Stewart Ivory Wealth Management. In 2021 the investment management business was bought by Canaccord Genuity Group for £54 million and now operates as Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management. The banking side of the business was reorganized, with banking and lending activities moved to Coutts in 2022.
