The 29th Quebec Legislature was the province’s lawmaking body after the 1970 general election. It held four sessions between 1970 and 1973: June 9–December 19, 1970; February 23–December 24, 1971; March 7, 1972–March 14, 1973; and March 15–September 25, 1973. The Liberal Party, led by Premier Robert Bourassa, formed the government, while the Union Nationale was the official opposition, initially led by Jean-Jacques Bertrand and later by Gabriel Loubier. The October Crisis occurred during this period. In 1972, Quebec reformed its electoral map by merging and splitting ridings; the changes took effect for the 1973 elections. Members were elected in 1970, with additional members chosen in by-elections during the mandate.
