The 23rd NHL All-Star Game was played on January 20, 1970, at the St. Louis Arena in St. Louis. The East Division defeated the West Division 4–1. Bobby Hull of Chicago was named the MVP, and attendance was 16,587.

This game was the first All-Star Game held at the St. Louis Arena and the first to be broadcast live on American television, on CBS. NHL president Clarence Campbell announced that the All-Star Game would go to Boston in 1971, Minnesota in 1972, and New York City in 1973, and that the league would expand to Buffalo and Vancouver for the next season. It marked the first All-Star Game outside the home rink of the defending Stanley Cup champions since 1948.

Brad Park, Bobby Clarke, and Tony Esposito made their first All-Star appearances. Clarke was substituting for Phil Goyette, who was injured.
