McLendons Creek
McLendons Creek is a 28.2-mile-long stream in Moore County, North Carolina. It starts about 0.25 miles southeast of Elberta and flows northeast to join the Deep River about 1.5 miles southeast of Glendon. The Deep River continues to the Cape Fear River and then to the Atlantic Ocean. McLendons Creek is the only U.S. stream with this name.
The creek drains about 101 square miles of land. The area gets around 48.6 inches of rainfall each year and is roughly 60% forested. The average flow at the mouth where it meets the Deep River is about 111 cubic feet per second. Its tributaries include on the left: Suck Creek, Richland Creek, and Persimmon Glade Branch; and on the right: Big Juniper Creek and Little Creek.
