The 2024 UEFA Europa League final was played on 22 May at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, with Atalanta of Italy beating Bayer Leverkusen of Germany 3-0. Ademola Lookman scored all three goals, earning him the Man of the Match and delivering Atalanta their first European trophy and first major title in 61 years. Lookman’s hat-trick made history as the first in a Europa League final and the first in a major European final since 1975.

Atalanta’s victory also made them the 30th club to win the competition, and the first Italian team to win since Parma in 1999. Leverkusen had been unbeaten in 51 matches that season but finished as runners-up. Nevertheless, they later won the German Cup three days after the final, completing a domestic double.

As winners, Atalanta earned the right to face Real Madrid in the 2024 UEFA Super Cup. The match was attended by 47,135 people in cloudy conditions (14°C).
