First Place (band)
First Place is a Japanese pop boy band that started in 2014. It began with Kento and Taihei, later adding Ryoma in 2015 and Kaito in 2017, and they spent a few years performing on the streets. They made their major debut in August 2018 with the single "Sadame" under Being Inc. The song was used as the ending theme for the anime Detective Conan and reached number 8 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. In November 2018 they held a one-man show at AiiA Theater and released their second single "Snow Light."
In June 2019 they released their first mini-album, "L.D. Love," which has seven tracks including "Sadame." Kaito wrote the lyrics for the track "L.D.Love." In 2020 Kaito left the group to pursue a solo career.
In June 2021 they ended their contract with Being Inc. and became independent, updating their official website. In September 2022 Kento left the band. In January 2023 they released the digital track "Lychee Sour," their first new material in four years. In September 2023 Taihei released his solo digital single "Sugar." By 2023 the band consists of two members, Ryoma and Taihei.
