2022 Euro Super Series

The 2022 Euro Super Series took place in Stirling, Scotland at the National Curling Academy. The women’s event ran August 18–21 and the men’s event August 25–28, with a purse of £20,000 for each side.

Men’s competition
Italy’s Team Retornaz, skipped by Joël Retornaz and including Amos Mosaner, Sebastiano Arman, and Mattia Giovanella from Trentino Curling, Cembra, won the title by beating the United States’ Korey Dropkin 9–3 in the final. Retornaz reached the playoffs with three straight wins on the A side; Dropkin advanced from the C side after a 3–2 round robin and then won two playoff games to reach the final. In the semifinals, Retornaz defeated Cameron Bryce (Scotland) 6–2, while Dropkin defeated Wouter Gösgens (Netherlands) 6–4. Other quarterfinalists included Ross Whyte, Steffen Walstad, John Shuster and James Craik.

Women’s competition
Germany’s Team Daniela Jentsch, with Emira Abbes, Mia Höhne and Analena Jentsch, defeated Norway’s Marianne Rørvik (team skipped by Maia Ramsfjell) 5–3 in the final. Jentsch went 3–1 in the round robin and earned a bye to the semifinals, while Rørvik went 5–0 to reach the semis. In the semifinals, Jentsch beat Raphaela Keiser (Switzerland) 7–3 and Rørvik beat Michèle Jäggi (Switzerland) 7–5. Eirin Mesløe (Norway) and Stefania Constantini (Italy) also reached the quarterfinals, but none of the Scottish women’s teams made the playoffs.
