The 2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I, also known as the OTP Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, was Hungary’s top football division and the 119th season. It ran from 15 July 2017 to 2 June 2018. Videoton won the title, while Balmazújváros and Vasas were relegated. The league qualified teams for European competition: Videoton earned a Champions League spot, and Ferencváros, Újpest and Honvéd earned Europa League places.

Defending champions Honvéd had won the previous season, their 14th Hungarian league title. The league had 12 teams who played 33 rounds. The season schedule was published on 14 July 2017 and rounds were drawn on 20 June 2017. Relegated from NB I after the 2016–17 season were MTK and Gyirmót; promoted to NB I were Puskás Akadémia and Balmazújváros, both licensed for top-division play.

Top scorer: Davide Lanzafame with 18 goals.

Notable results: Biggest home wins were Ferencváros 5–0 Mezőkövesd, Diósgyőr 5–0 Vasas, and Ferencváros 5–0 Balmazújváros. Biggest away wins were Haladás 1–5 Puskás Akadémia and Vasas 1–5 Debrecen. Highest-scoring matches included Ferencváros 5–2 Vasas, Honvéd 4–3 Puskás Akadémia, Debrecen 2–5 Videoton, and Ferencváros 5–2 Honvéd.

Attendance: highest 19,125 at Ferencváros 2–1 Debrecen; lowest 200 at Puskás Akadémia 0–0 Debrecen.

Notes: Újpest played four matches behind closed doors; Haladás played nine away matches until their stadium opened; Diósgyőr played 13 away matches until their stadium opened. The league used a split format: after 22 rounds, the teams were divided into two groups for the final 11 rounds, with the top six playing more home games and the bottom six playing more away games.
