2012 Campeonato Nacional Primera División
The 2012 Campeonato Nacional Petrobras (Primera División) was Chile’s 81st top‑flight season. Sponsored by Petrobras, the ANFP brought back the Apertura and Clausura format with playoffs. Eighteen teams competed (16 from 2011, plus Antofagasta and Rangers promoted from Primera B). Santiago Wanderers celebrated their 120th year since founding in 1892.
Apertura
- The tournament ran from January to July 2, 2012.
- Universidad de Chile won the Apertura title, finishing ahead in the playoff final (decided by penalties).
Clausura
- The Clausura was played in the second half of the year.
- Huachipato won the Clausura title.
Relegation and promotion
- Relegated to Primera B: Universidad de Concepción, Unión San Felipe, and Deportes La Serena.
Continental qualification for 2013
- Copa Libertadores: Universidad de Chile, Huachipato, Iquique.
- Copa Sudamericana: O'Higgins, Iquique.
- Colo-Colo qualified for the 2013 Copa Sudamericana.
Top scorers
- Apertura: Emanuel Herrera, Sebastián Ubilla, and Enzo Gutiérrez (11 goals each).
- Clausura: Sebastián Sáez (13 goals).
