The 2009 Turkmenistan Cup was the 17th edition of the national cup since Turkmenistan’s independence. It began on August 9, 2009, with 16 teams in the first round, and the final date was to be announced later.

First-round matches were on August 9 (first legs) and August 12 (second legs). In the quarterfinals, games took place on August 19 (first legs) and August 22 (second legs). The winners on aggregate were Nebitçi Balkanabat (7–1), Merw Mary (4–2), Altyn Asyr (7–2), and HTTU Aşgabat (6–2).

Semifinals were played with the first legs on August 26 and the second legs on August 29, 2009. Merw Mary won 2–1 on aggregate, while Altyn Asyr advanced on away goals after a 3–3 aggregate draw.
