Circle Ranch
Circle Ranch, also known as the R.L. Miller Ranch, is a historic cattle ranch in Sublette County, Wyoming, near Big Piney. It covers about 3.8 acres (1.5 hectares).
The site began as a homestead around 1878–1880, started by Otto Liefer. In 1895, Liefer sold the claim to James Mickelson, who expanded the operation into one of the area’s largest ranches. The Mickelson family has owned the ranch ever since.
Two of the oldest buildings survive: a cottonwood log Liefer cabin and a nearby cabin built by Nicolas Swan, both among the oldest permanent structures in Sublette County. The Mickelson–Miller family also built a 1905 ranch house, and by 1915 the holdings reached about 20,000 acres with around 6,000 cattle.
Circle Ranch was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 14, 1987.
