2 BC
2 BC was a year in ancient calendars. In the Julian calendar, it was a common year that began on Thursday or Friday (depending on the source). In the extended proleptic Julian calendar, it began on a Wednesday. In Roman times the year was known as the Year of the Consulship of Augustus and Silvanus, and it was also counted as 752 Ab urbe condita (from the founding of Rome). The label “2 BC” was only used later, after the Anno Domini dating system became common in Europe.
