1997 Wismilak International was a women’s tennis tournament in Surabaya, Indonesia, played on outdoor hard courts. It was part of the Tier IV level of the 1997 WTA Tour and the fourth edition of the event, held from September 22 to September 28, 1997. The singles champion was Dominique Van Roost, who defeated Lenka Němečková 6–1, 6–3 in the final. In doubles, Kerry-Anne Guse and Rika Hiraki defeated Maureen Drake and Renata Kolbovic 6–1, 7–6. The tournament drew 32 players in singles and 16 teams in doubles, with prize money of $107,500.
