1988 1. divisjon (women) in Norway was the top division of women's football. The season ran from 30 April to 9 October 1988. Ten teams played 18 matches each, for a total of 90 games. Teams earned 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. The bottom two teams (9th and 10th) were relegated, while two teams from the 2. divisjon were promoted through a playoff. Asker won the league title (their first) after losing only one game. The top scorer was Linda Medalen with 22 goals.
