The 1987 Kansas Jayhawks football team represented the University of Kansas in the Big Eight Conference during the 1987 NCAA Division I-A season. In head coach Bob Valesente’s second and final year, the Jayhawks finished 1–9–1 overall and 0–6–1 in the Big Eight, tying for seventh place. They were outscored by opponents 398 to 135. Home games were played at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas. The team's statistical leaders were Kelly Donohoe with 981 passing yards, Arnold Snell with 691 rushing yards, and Willie Vaughn with 672 receiving yards. Captains were chosen for each game.
