Octave Magnan (April 23, 1836 – May 7, 1921) was a farmer and politician in Quebec. He represented Montcalm in the Legislative Assembly as a Conservative from 1878 to 1881 and again from 1892 to 1897. Magnan was born in Saint-Jacques, Lower Canada, to Gabriel Magnan and Rosalie Brouillet, and studied at Saint-Alexis. In 1858 he married Odile Duval of Saint-Alexis. He first ran for the Quebec assembly in an 1874 by-election but was not elected. He won in 1878, lost reelection in 1881 to Jean-Baptiste-Trefflé Richard, won again in 1892, and was defeated in 1897 by Pierre-Julien-Léonidas Bissonnette. He also ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Canadian House of Commons in 1882 and 1891. Magnan died in Saint-Jacques at the age of 85.
