1986 NCAA Division I baseball season. College World Series champions: Arizona; runners-up: Florida State; Most Outstanding Player: Mike Senne of Arizona. Polls and rankings: Baseball America began ranking the top 20 teams in 1981 and expanded to the top 25 in 1985. Collegiate Baseball Newspaper began ranking the top 20 teams in 1957 and expanded to the top 30 in 1961. Only the final poll from the 1986 season is available today.
