1984 Soviet Cup in Football

The 1984 Soviet Cup was a knockout football competition in the Soviet Union. It ran from February 18 to June 24, 1984 and featured 48 teams from the top three leagues. Shinnik Yaroslavl did not participate due to a sanction. The 48 teams were drawn into a single-elimination bracket, with 32 teams starting in the early rounds and the remaining 16 Top League teams entering at the Round of 32. If a match ended tied after extra time, it went to penalties. In Cup games, no more than three substitutions were allowed.

The final was played on June 24, 1984, in Moscow at the Central Stadium named after V. I. Lenin.

Winners and runners-up: Champions — Dinamo Moscow; Runners-up — Zenit Leningrad. By winning, Dinamo Moscow qualified for a continental tournament.
