Rank test

Rank tests are statistical tests that use the order of data (ranks) instead of the actual numbers. They are closely related to permutation tests. Ranks stay largely the same under monotone changes to the data, which makes rank tests robust to outliers and suitable for ordinal data. They detect differences between samples by comparing ranks rather than exact values.
