Florian Meier, born in 1988 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is a politician who has served as the mayor of Vaduz since 2024. He was the deputy mayor from 2023 and worked as a police officer with the Liechtenstein National Police from 2011 to 2024. In January 2024 he temporarily became mayor because Petra Miescher was on sick leave. When Miescher resigned on 24 May 2024 due to health issues, Meier became acting mayor. He was elected mayor in a by-election on 25 August 2024, winning unanimously with no opposition. He is a member of the Progressive Citizens' Party. Meier was sworn in on 18 September 2024 by Prime Minister Daniel Risch and Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni. He is married to Mirjam Negele since 2010 and they have three children.
